3DFlow has announced that an update to its photogrammetry software 3DF Zephyr is now available. Version 4.5 improves the “mesh enhancement filter” added in version 4.0. This feature is unusual in that it improves the appearance of the surface by adding details that can be more aesthetically pleasing but may not be 100% faithful to the scanned item.
It is now possible to bake out normal maps in both object and tangent space directly in 3DF Zephyr and the UV packing algorithm has been improved to use space more efficiently. UX has been improved too, and there are many more small improvements. To see a full list of what’s new, visit the 3DFlow website.
